Azizi, Japanese envoy discuss preservation of Afghanistan’s historical sites

KABUL (AIP): The Deputy Minister of Culture and Arts at the Ministry of Information and Culture Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, met with Japan’s Ambassador Masamoto Kenichi in Kabul to discuss cultural cooperation and the preservation of Afghanistan’s historical heritage.
The ministry of information and culture said in statementTuesday ( Nov. 18 ) that Azizi praised Japan for its efforts in safeguarding and restoring Afghanistan’s ancient cultural and historical artifacts.
He emphasized that Japan’s contributions hold significant value for the protection of the country’s cultural legacy.
The press reported that the Japanese ambassador described the Islamic Emirate’s efforts to preserve historical heritage as commendable.
He noted that Afghanistan’s ancient civilization carries global importance and stressed that protecting historical sites and artifacts is not only the responsibility of the Afghan government but a collective responsibility of the international community.
Ambassador Kenichi also highlighted the Islamic Emirate’s progress in combating narcotics, fighting corruption, and preventing the smuggling of historical artifacts, calling these efforts successful and valuable.
The meeting delivered a positive message of strengthened cultural relations and the continuation of joint cooperation between Afghanistan and Japan. Ends
