Aid distribution among thousands of family started with support of KS Relief

KABUL (AIP): The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) started the distribution of aid goods project among  needy families in Afghanistan with the $3 million financial support of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) and coordination of the Afghan Red Crescent Socity.
The project will cover 25 Afghan states and 47,400 food baskets will be distributed to 284000 beneficiaries of the project.
In this connection a ceremony held in Kabul Thursday (Jan. 19) and attended by acting head of Afghan Red Crescent Socity (ARCS) Haji Matiul Haq Khalis, OIC representative Dr. Mohammad Saeed Alaish and officials of King Salman Foundation.
Aid goods were distributed among 550 needy families in Kabul on the first days of the beginning of aid distribution process.
Talking to journalists, Maulvi Matiul Haq Khalis thanked the OIC and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) for providing aid to the hapless people of Afghanistan like the past year.
He said the Afghan Red Crescent will distribute the aid goods among the needy family will complete transparence before the end of winter.
OIC representative Mohammad Saeed Alaish said on the occasion that the OIC coordinated aid included food goods and enough to fulfill the need of a family.
He said that nearly three tons of food items have been purchased in Afghanistan markets for the project and would be distributed among 284000 needy persons, adding it has been planned that each family would be provided 62 kg of food items which includes 40 kg of flour, five kg beans, five kg sugar, five litre ghee, five kg rice and two kg dates.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) also provided aid goods to thousands of families in Afghanistan in the past years. Ends
